Welcome to the Rising 3's RoomThe Rising 3’s RoomOur Rising 3’s Room is a lovely large spacious area, consisting of a large lino floor area – where the children’s tables are set up, allowing them to explore lots of ‘messy play!’ Easels, sand-play and water-play are readily available for the children in this area. Also in the room is a carpeted area, in which we have a home corner, book area and dressing up area.
We have a separate toilet area for the Rising 3’s – which has lovely murals of Rainbow Fish on the walls.
In the toilet unit (for those not potty trained) we also have a nappy changing unit, and two little hand-washing basins which we encourage the children to use after trips to the toilet and before touching food, the children are fully monitored by staff at all times whilst they are in the toilet.
The age range of children in Rising 3's is 2-3 years old, dependant on development. Key-PersonYour child is allocated a key person when they start here at Into-Play. They are responsible for keeping your child’s routine up to date and are also your 1st point of contact should you need to speak to anyone regarding your child’s care. They will also monitor and assess your child’s individual developmental needs with regard to The Early Years Foundation Stage and will provide appropriate stimulation for your baby’s every need. You are also welcome to speak to Laura or Sally (The Management Team) at any time.
Food provisionWe have a varied balanced menu which is available for you to look at on our parent’s notice board in our Main Entrance. Below is an example of how our food is spread out through the day.
8.30–8.45 Breakfast 10.00-10.20 Morning Snack 11.30-12.00 Lunch 15.30-16.00 Supper
Milk and water is supplied to the children during the above mealtimes – we provide cups for the children. We also provide sports water bottles for every child – this is a constant supply of fresh drinking water for the children – they have access to these bottles AT ALL TIMES throughout their Nursery day. No child is ever refused food, and if they do not like a certain type of food/meal, we will do our utmost to make sure a substitute is made available. We cater for individual dietary needs or preferences. OutsideThe rising 3’s make good use of their outside play area. The staff often plan activities to do whilst outside so there is a purpose. For example, we could take the water tray outside and some dolls, so the children can imagine they are bathing a baby, or we take the balancing beams out so the children can practice and develop their balancing skills. During the summer months we can also have morning or afternoon snack underneath our large parasols which protect the children from the sun whilst enjoying the fresh air! RoutineDuring your Child’s 1st introduction, the Key-Person will discuss with you their individual needs, likes and dislikes. As we follow The Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum we encourage the children to choose their own activities rather than plan for them, many activities in the Rising 3's are at a suitable height enabling the children to access them. There are some adult-led activities but it is mainly a child-led day. SuppliesWe do supply Wet-Wipes; however, we do ask you to provide us with nappies/training pants for your child, and also a few pairs of clean underwear during the latter stages of potty-training – due to the inevitable accidents!! As we do lots of messy play during the day – it would be of great help if you could provide us with a change of clothes. We do provide aprons during messy activities – however, the children still manage to get covered in paint/spaghetti etc!! We also provide sun-cream and Calpol. E.Y.F.SWe follow The Early Years Foundation Stage and each member of staff takes responsibility to tailor/plan activities for their own Key-Child, in both group and one-to-one activities. We have a wide range of resources available to us; examples of activities are bubbles, house-play, musical instruments, sand-play and other types of messy/creative play. Pasta and flour play ... We hope you and your child will be very happy and enjoy your time at Into-Play, and also feel secure in the thought that we are here for you and welcome any questions or concerns that you may have. |
